Salary: Band 1b Starter £12,981 per annum rising to 1b Standard £13,259 per annum following successful probation.

Key Responsibilities of a Young Carers Activity Worker
- Raise awareness to help identify and support Young Adult Carers.
- Help and empower Young Adult Carers in building their confidence and resilience.
- Be non-judgemental and able to effectively communicate with people from diverse age groups, cultures, nationalities and people with disabilities.
- Attend events in relation to Employment, Education and Training.
- Further develop a robust transition process for Young Adult Carers.
- Complete statutory Carer’s Assessments to action support services.

Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of working with Young Adults aged between 16-25 years old.
- Experience of working with Education and Employment sectors.
- Excellent knowledge and experience relating to local and national safeguarding children and adults safeguarding referral and alerting processes.
- An understanding of the challenges that Young Adult Carers face as part of transition from our children’s service to our adult’s service.
- Knowledge of Gateshead geographical area.
- Ability to work with and use several IT systems.
