DESCRIPTION:Moving from primary to secondary school can feel like a really big step up. For young carers it can feel even bigger when you’re also trying to look after someone. \nWe’re hosting school transition activity for young carers to meet other young carers moving into their next school and answer any questions they have. \n  \nKey Information\nDate and Time: Thursday 13th August 2026\, 10:30am – 3:30pm \nWho is this for? Young carers transitioning from year 6 to year 7 this summer. \nWhat do I need to bring with me? Please bring a packed lunch and a drink. \nMeeting Arrangements: We will be providing transport to and from the venue. We will first meet at an arrange meeting point in central Gateshead before heading over – more details of this will be shared with young carers who sign up. \n\nI would like to go to this!\nPlease fill in our short form below and we will contact you to let you know more about the session\, including the meeting point and to confirm your place! SUMMARY:Mindfulness Walk through Saltwell Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relaxing walk through Saltwell Park. This free event is designed especially for caregivers to step back\, breathe and connect with the beautiful\, natural surroundings of the park. We’ll be joined by some friends from The Little Company of Calm who will share some fantastic mindfulness techniques for you to try including\, mindful movement\, cloud gazing\, focusing on your senses and reflecting. \n  \nDate: Thursday 13th August \nTime: 11am – 12pm \nLocation: Saltwell Park\, meeting at the Gate opposite Little Theatre. Get directions. \n  \nGive yourself a short break from caring and join our caring community – be sure to wear comfortable shoes\, bring sunscreen and wear a waterproof jacket depending on the weather. \n  \nIf you’d like to join us\, please let us know by click the “going” option below – this gives us an idea on how many people want to attend. Once you have let us know\, there’s nothing else needed except to turn up on the day!
