School Transition Activity Day (Primary to Secondary)

Moving from primary to secondary school can feel like a really big step up. For young carers it can feel even bigger when you’re also trying to look after someone.

We’re hosting school transition activity for young carers to meet other young carers moving into their next school and answer any questions they have.

Date and Time: Thursday 13th August 2026, 10:30am – 3:30pm

Who is this for? Young carers transitioning from year 6 to year 7 this summer.

What do I need to bring with me? Please bring a packed lunch and a drink.

Meeting Arrangements: We will be providing transport to and from the venue. We will first meet at an arrange meeting point in central Gateshead before heading over – more details of this will be shared with young carers who sign up.
