We’re here to support caregivers with any questions and enquiries they may have. When you contact us, you can have peace of mind knowing that we will offer you free and confidential service, sharing information, advice and guidance that is bespoke to you.

What type of support can I receive?

Our team carries many years of experience with supporting unpaid caregivers and the social systems they used. Through conversation with us, you can expect to receive support around topics including;

  • Condition-specific information and advice
  • Signposting to local organisations
  • Advice on accessing statutory support, such as a Carer’s Assessment
  • Opportunities to connect with local caregivers through groups and activities
  • Ways to take short breaks from your caring role
  • Accessing certain state benefits
  • Understanding your carer’s rights
  • Local support for caregivers

Caregivers Connected Gateshead is an all-ages caregivers support service which means that we offer a wide range of support options and opportunities to Gateshead’s community of unpaid caregivers.

How do I access support from Caregivers Connected Gateshead?

We want to make it as easy as possible for all caregivers to get the support they would like. We recommend that you make a self-referral into our services – you can do this by filling in our self-referral form.

I am a professional working with a caregiver, how can I refer them in to access support?

We can work with anyone who provides unpaid care for resident of Gateshead. If a caregiver is accessing your service and you believe they would benefits from our support, please complete our external referral form and we shall contact the caregiver.
