The NHS App allows you to access a range of NHS services. You can download the NHS App on your phone or tablet. Alternatively, you can access the same services by using the NHS website.

You must be aged 13 or older to use the NHS App. You also need to be registered with a GP surgery in England. Find out more on who can use the App.

What can you do with the NHS App?

Once you have downloaded and logged into your NHS account on the App, you can;

• Order repeat prescriptions and nominate a pharmacy where you would like to collect them.
• Book and manage appointments.
• View your GP health record to see information like your allergies and medicines. You may also be able to see detailed medical records and test results.
• Book and manage vaccinations.
• Register your organ donation decision.
• Choose how the NHS uses your data.
• View your NHS number.
• Use NHS 111 online to answer questions and get instant advice or medical help near you.

Using family and carer access

As a parent, family member or carer, you may be able to add someone to your NHS App using a feature called family and carer access. This is also sometimes called having a linked profile or having proxy access.

By using family and carer access, you can access the account of the person you care for in their stead. This means you can use all of the NHS App features, such as ordering repeat prescriptions or booking appointments for the person you care for directly through the app.
