Digital Ambassador

As a Digital Ambassador you will help us to raise awareness of caring and the support available to unpaid carers and caregivers in the Gateshead area through social media. You will also help to promote Caregivers Connected Gateshead, the work we do and the volunteering opportunities available.

What’s Involved?

We will contact you each month by email and ask you to share social media posts about our current events and activities as well as important news and information for caregivers.

You’ll help to signpost carers, young adult carers and caregivers to Caregivers Connected Gateshead.

You’ll help to develop our online content by feeding back and reporting on what works and what extra information people might ask you for and other feedback you receive about your posts.

You can also always opt out at any time if you think it gets too much.

The skills you’ll need

  • A good knowledge of at least one social media platform.
  • Access to a computer, tablet, or phone with internet access.
  • A friendly personality.
  • Excellent online communication skills.

What we think you will get out of it?

You will get the chance to make a difference from the comfort of your sofa. You won’t have to do much, but you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that by sharing information you can help people who might not realise they are caring for someone.

How we will support you

Our Volunteer Co-ordinator will have regular monthly contact with you with support and guidance throughout our volunteering adventure.

You can also come along to our monthly volunteers drop-in to meet other volunteers and share feedback.

Your time

This role is very flexible. You will be required to share the content sent in the monthly email but when you decide to do this is up to you.
