We’re a small team who provide a wide range of services to support young carers, young adult carers and caregivers. Our work generates a lot of paperwork. This provides us with an opportunity to offer you the chance to put your admin skills to use or gain experience and develop your professional skills in an office setting.
What’s Involved?
The role would include tasks such as:
- Data entry.
- Filing.
- Contacting our young carers to book places on activities and confirm attendance.
- Supporting the planning and preparation of activities and workshops.
- Any other admin duties as needed.
The skills you’ll need
As a Volunteer Administrator will need you to demonstrate a base level of knowledge and skill, however, training would be available to volunteers who show a passion for the services that we provide and a willingness to develop their own skills:
- IT skills: experience of using Microsoft Office.
- Accurate record keeping.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality and the ability to commit to a regular volunteering pattern.
- Data Protection awareness – regular GDPR training will be an essential part of this role, which we will provide.
- Friendly and empathetic to the needs of our service users.
How we will support you
You will be volunteering with our team in our office so will always have someone on hand to answer your questions or offer help and support.
Our Volunteer Co-ordinator will have regular monthly contact with you with support and guidance throughout your volunteering adventure.
You can also come along to our monthly volunteer drop in to meet other volunteers and raise any issues you might have.
Your Time
Can you give up an hour or two each week? We can be flexible if you can. Let us know when you are available and for how long and we will see if we can accommodate you.
